Pakistan Navy Chief Meets Bahrain’s Top Leadership, Eyes Stronger Ties

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf held high-level meetings with Bahrain’s top civil and military leadership during his official visit to the country. According to a press release from the Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy), the naval chief met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Sunday.
The discussions centred on strengthening defence cooperation and further cementing the historic ties between Bahrain and Pakistan. The King praised the Pakistan Navy’s unwavering commitment to ensuring regional maritime security and stability.
Admiral Ashraf also met with prominent military officials, including Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF); General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard; and Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Binali, Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF). The meetings covered professional matters of mutual interest, such as regional maritime security and bilateral defence collaboration.
During these engagements, Admiral Ashraf emphasised the significance of strengthening ties between the armed forces of both nations through joint exercises, training exchange programmes, and mutual visits.
The naval chief visited RBNF Ship MANAMA and addressed the Royal Command and Staff College, where he discussed the evolving security environment in the Indian Ocean Region. He stressed the importance of a region-centric maritime security framework to address emerging challenges effectively.
Admiral Ashraf’s visit is expected to bolster the defence partnership and enhance cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
