Pakistan, Oman to Boost Transport and IT Collaboration

ISLAMABAD (AIA) Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, met with Oman’s Minister of Communication, Transport, and Information Technology, Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed Al Mawali, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in key sectors.
The meeting, held in Oman, was attended by undersecretaries Mr. Al Khamais and Dr. Al Shidhani, according to a press release issued Thursday.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to boosting collaboration in communication, transportation, and information technology. Minister Jam Kamal Khan highlighted the potential for both countries to leverage their expertise to enhance physical and technological infrastructure.
A key point of discussion was the establishment of a direct transportation and logistics link between Pakistan and Oman via sea routes. Minister Al Mawali announced that Oman would soon send a high-level delegation to Pakistan to explore joint initiatives in transport, communication, and IT.
Al Mawali also emphasised the deep historical, cultural, and social ties between the two nations, stressing the need to transform these connections into practical collaborations.
Both ministers agreed to enhance sea and air connectivity and expand cooperation in the IT sector, aiming to increase trade, drive economic growth, and foster technological advancements for mutual benefit.
